GradNation Memphis Summit and Launch of College and Career Readiness CAN
On Sept. 12th, we will begin the launch process for the College and Career Readiness Collaborative Action Network (CAN), as the next part of the Seeding Success cradle to career road map, and we want to invite you and any person or organization you feel might be interested.
As a part of America’s Promise, a GradNation summit is being held in Memphis coordinated by the City of Memphis Office of Human Talent and Capital, Shelby County Schools, and Seeding Success. The summit will host 400 high school seniors in the morning and partner organizations will work with them to take advantage of opportunities to pursue post-secondary education. The afternoon sessions will focus on how partner organizations, local leaders, and businesses can get involved to ensure that more Memphis children graduate High School College and Career Ready and have access to a post-secondary opportunity, which is where you come in.
Please join us for our session entitled Local and Collaborative Action for College and Career Readiness. In this session participants will learn how their organizations can engage in collaborative action to improve this outcome in our community, and we will investigate the local data on adolescent literacy and high school graduation. Participants will be encouraged to engage in direct action to improve outcomes by participating in the College and Career Readiness CAN.
